BA and Camp Quality

There's nothing like bringing a smile to a kids face when you taken them for a spin on a motorcycle, and that's what a group of BA'er's did on Saturday the 20th March when we met the children from Camp Quality at their annual camp out in Greenwell East Nowra.

With unusually fine weather for a Hughesy organised weekend, we all met at Narellan MacDonald's and enjoyed the sunshine taking our time to get to the destination.

The children had not been told what to expect, and so there was an element of surprise as 6-7 bikes arrived in their town to take them around. After kitting them all up, we spent two hours going round and round the town at gradually increasing speeds, until some of the kids were asking "Can we go faster?" so the cruisers pulled about 6G's as we accelerated down the straights at Klingon Battle Cruiser speed, while the sports bikes did Millenium Falcon warp speed to the delight
of the children. (To the camp care givers, Actually, we were very sedate I promise!). We only lost one child on the day, Charlotte! But she eventually found us a little later and was in constant demand taking the teenage boys around the town!

BA was presented with a Camp Quality certificate in appreciation, and Hughesy had made up certificates for each of the children.

A huge thanks to the whole town of Greenwell for putting up with the loops, the noise and the gregarious behaviour of those BA team members who stayed overnight (See photos). Special thanks to Sonia and the Camp Quality team, with special thanks to "The Pom" and Sleepy.

Thanks to the Smithfield RSL for all your hospitality and breakfast, the Greenwell Hotel for the complimentary accommodation, and to the Greenwell butcher for providing the magnificent meat for the spit
roast.

Once we had kicked the "Squatters" out of the hotel room, we crashed only to find that Sleepy and the compressor outside our door were having a race to see who could generate the most decibels, Sleepy won with his snoring in the upper bunk which Hughesy managed to keep under control with a kick up the backside from the lower bunk in 45 second intervals!

Thanks to the BA'er's on the day, Donna, New members Michael and Sue, Steve Hughes, Kathy, Charlotte, and Tim.

Cheers, Steve Brine VTX1800 (Secretary)
