Sunday 4th May - Ride Out West with Girls Ride Out

From Mark

Had an exceptional day out yesterday the ride up to O'connell. The sun was out but a bit cool in the mountain the roads were good and not too many cars. lots of twisty bits and nice good hard run up the Bells line, the off the main road sections were a treat and the scene of bikes streaming through the hills was a pleasure to behold. I couldnt fault any part of the trip. Many thanks to Sue, Greg and Liam for taking us on a very pleasant day out made it what motorcycling is all about. Perfect whether, perfect route, perfect company great to be a part of.. To Lou and the team keep up the good work look forward to the next day...

From James

Just a quick "Thank you" to everyone involved in organising a great day out on the O'Connell pub ride with the GRO girls. (When do the boys start a "BRO group - Boys Ride Out ??). Jill (Very scratched up Yellow Triumph TT600) and I (not so scratched up Blue Sprint ST) had a lot of fun and met a heap of good people. Hope everyone made it home okay and thawed out. Hope to ride with you all again some day. Keep the sunny side up!

Sunday 11th May - MCC All Clubs Ride

From Phil

The MCC all clubs ride was a chilled (not chilly!) meander through the southern countryside, just right for a Sunday afternoon (M-day) and paced so Ol'Thumpy could keep up but yet blow the cobwebs out of the combustion chamber after so many days in city traffic.

The weather was great, organisation impeccable - all turnoffs were marked, lead rider and tail rider appointed, fast paced as well as slow paced group - they've done it before!.

I was surprised to find the turnout only to be about 30 odd bikes, I didn't count so that may be slightly off the mark. I had expected around 1000, though ;)

Nice to ride in a mixed group, with everything from a CBR1100XX (the ultimate machine - hee hee) to VTX1800 (I guess the other ultimate machine - if you're in for cubes). Apart from Hondas there were also BMW's, and, I guess, also some other bikes....

15-18th May - Sydney Motorcycle Show

From Soph

To anyone who didn't come along, the Sydney Motorcycle Show was pretty fantastic! It was a window shopper's paradise, even if most of the manufacturers didn't like you bouncing up and down on the suspension. There was a good range of related stands too, for instance Mr Yoshimura and his EPA compliant *cough* exhausts were there, "The Snail" - a backpack with a tent - and a certain insurance stand which left many riders pushing their jaw back into position. There was also a trails display at the back of the show, and of course the infamous Bikers Anon stand with our wall of fame.. plus our DVD of highly legal highway motorcycling..

Many thanks to all the volunteers at the BA stand, we hope you had fun, and welcome to our new members!! There's lots of 'em too.. See you on the next ride!
