Sunday 1st June - New Members' Ride to Wisemans

From Paul

Highlights -

  • Dave's (ZX-9) funky navigation work to get to Berowra... and I was gonna go straight down the Pacific!
  • Seeing the massive turnout at Berowra Mobil.
  • Seeing a last minute plan fall together so well.
  • The twisties to Wisemans.... not sure I agree with previous claims of them being better than sex, but definitely fun...
  • The jokes about the hamburger nazi over lunch.
  • The run back through Galston's Gorge with the FJR-1300, Monster 600 and CBR-250... i have a theory that those corners are what inspired the people who build multi level car parks.

Lowlight -

  • Finding out about the EPA tests on the planned route (I'm sure I would have been fined for the monstrous roar my GPX 250 puts out... why are you laughing?)

All in all, I couldn't imagine a better way to spend a Sunday... well, I can, but judging by the last couple of emails even that's the subject of debate these days. ;) Big thanks to the organisers and the BA committee, whose positions are no doubt getting harder as the group grows so quickly... it must be a daunting task to get so many poeple together, and they keep doing a fantastic job.

Only one more thing, there was one rider who's overtaking style left something to be desired... coming around the outside in the middle of a tight left hander in the same lane.. stop and think what would happen if I changed my line without seeing you. But that's the exception rather than the rule, all in all I was happily suprised with the newly grown group! One question... how is DeNiro's going to cope with it all?

Thanks again to all involved!

From Richard

Thank you Bikers Anon for a new enjoyable and memorable experience. You are a great bunch and I hope to ride with you again.

It is official, you can do something that is just as fun as sex.

Today I rode my new FJR1300 for the first time on a ride day. 250km up the old road to Mt White - Central Mangrove then back through Wisemans Ferry. On the way to Wisemans I was in such a state I couldn't help but burst into song and set the bike dancing. What a day. It was worth every dollar spent on and every day waited for this bike to arrive.

YeeHAA - WOOHOO - Get that up ya!

Now sex with the wife will be always compared with this day. (shit! she kill me for saying that)
